Oundle Young Farmers 2016 Charity Clay Shoot

Oundle Young Farmers 2016 Charity Clay Shoot

2016 saw Oundle Young Farmers hold its sixth Charity Clay Shoot at Colpman’s Farm, Islip by kind permission of Mr Charles Stopford-Sackville and the Drayton Estate.  With 240 guns through the gates this year and the expansion from five stand sporting to seven stand sporting means the event goes from strength to strength.

Expansion of the stands provided some new challenges for competitors this year, with the addition of a ‘lamping rabbit’ and ‘walked up woodcock’ giving some diversity to what the club have already built. These new stands were positioned down by the team of four flush allowing for the ease of congestion on the sporting stands that was experienced by some competitors at the 2015 event.

This year the club have raised over £6000 for charity, with the proceeds being evenly split between The Robert Horrell Macmillan Centre at Peterborough City Hospital, PAPYRUS and Warwickshire & Northamptonshire Air Ambulance.  All of these charities are very close to the club and committee’s hearts so it makes us very proud to be able to support them.

With the event going from strength to strength we must thank all our sponsors, volunteers, competitors and our ever accommodating host.  A massive thank you must also go to the hard-working committee who put so much time and effort into creating a wonderful event that we are very proud to run!!
